What is Water? Why do living beings need it and where does it come from?
All these questions will help you embark on a special Adventure, because The Way of the Water will guide all of you towards an inner journey also.
Find a Mountain Spring, it doesn't have to be a big one, it can also be a tiny water stream. You will need to hike a little bit and get your hands dirty, wet and probably muddy. Keep into account that the water from any mountain spring can be pretty cold, so be aware of this detail when you plan to take a swim or maybe take a bath, while you take this adventure:)You will have to get creative and play Nature's role, see what it truly means to be flexible, floating around, above and under all obstacles.
First step is to find a spring or water stream, preferably a clean one, so children can also drink from it at some point.
After you found the spring or water stream, you start figuring out where does the water come from (left/right, North/South, East/West - adjust the information according to the age of the group)
After you established directions, here comes the interactive creative part. Each participant must find a way to either stop the water or change it's course, for a small portion of the stream. Any natural materials can be used, from branches, to stones, to moss or any other element available. The most important idea to emphasize here is that rough materials are not always stronger than soft materials...like water:) Water has no rough edges, it is not solid, sharp or dense, like wood or a stone, but still, it gets through all obstacles and keeps going further, no matter what.
Children can work in teams or individual, although we encourage to make teams, so they also learn important skills of collaboration and building something together.
The Goal of this Adventure is to grow and "become water"(like Bruce Lee once said:). The main goal is to connect to Nature's elements and trough this connection, to foster a deeper bond with everything that surrounds us, but especially our dear Planet Earth. In order for things to get more interesting, you can ask kids to make a contest, whoever succeeds stopping the water stream first, wins a prize (that can be a bouquet of wild flowers, or some wild blueberries, if you can find some, or a special shaped stone that someone found - let your imagination run free in this regard).
If we look closely, we can notice how little kids and even babies are extremely attracted to water, but also all other Nature's gifts. As adults, we tend to forget about this connection, but there's always a way back to our roots - through the outdoors.
This Adventure can be taken anywhere outdoors, where you can find a spring or water stream. It can be in the forest, maybe in the nearby park or even in your backyard, if you have an outdoor water tap(even though it is not quite the same experience).
First rule for this Adventure is to be prepared to get your hands into the water, mud and various other natural materials. If you're outside and it's Summer, so the weather is warm, don't stress about the equipment, just make sure you can get dry quickly.
If the weather doesn't allow you to dry in the sun, then you should probably take some rain boots, rain coat and changing clothes (just in case..:)
You can choose a Free Plan in order to take this Adventure or you can upgrade to an Explorer or Adventurer plan, so we can send you customized exclusive content, connect you with other community members and suggest various variants to enjoy this adventure, anywhere.
